Representative Richard P. Myers, 94th district, spoke to the hundreds of supporters attending the rally held in Farmington Illinois. The 336 Coalition Rally is an annual event that gives supportes an opportunity to learn of the progress on the highway.

The 336 Coalition was given a very warm welcome by Lewistown Mayor Barry Blackwell with a handshake and a check for $2,600 representing $1 for each resident of Lewistown. The City was also very gracious in providing help with the pavilion and with placing 336 signs along the routes into Lewistown.

The Central Illinois Ag Coalition was the featured guest of the 336 Coalition at the June 13th Rally. Here, Ag Coalition President Mike Smith gives an update related to the Ethanol Plant that is to be built near Canton.

Lt. Governor Candidate, Senator Carl Hawkinson addresses the audience. Senator Hawkinson confirmed the support he has given to the 336 Coalition since its inception and pledged to find a way to provide the funding to build the highway.

State Senator George Shadid is arguably the 336 Coalition’s strongest supporter. It was Senator Shadid and Representative Mike Smith who worked with Congressman LaHood and Governor George Ryan to secure the $12.5 million in funding as part of Governor Ryan’s Illinois First program to fund Phase I of the Peoria to Macomb leg of 336

The 336 Coalition has always enjoyed and appreciated the strong support it has received from the areas in and around Quincy. Here, Senator Laura Kent Donahue addresses the audience and pledges her support. Representative Art Tenhouse has also been a long time supporter but was unable to attend the event.

Representative Rich Myers addresses the audience. Representative Myers is a staunch advocate for the need to complete 336 by continuing the route from Quincy to Macomb and having it run on to Peoria.

Representative Don Moffitt pledged his support for a system of highways running through west-central Illinois.

This view (to the south) is of work underway on Route 336. This site is located ~7 miles south of Carthage.

While an Expressway features 65 mph travel, of great importance to families along the path of the highway is the ability to access or cross the highway. Here a rural farm household has direct access to the highway.

It is critical to the Ag Community that they maintain the ability to access their fields. Here a picture is worth a thousand words. This picture was taken from the middle of the southbound lane of 336 10 miles south of Carthage.

Representative Mike Smith speaks in support of Highway 336....Representative Mike Smith has been a supporter of Highway 336 and helped secure the Phase 1 funding that will make the dream become reality.... four lane transportation in Fulton County that connects Macomb to Peoria.

Jim Ryan, Attorney General and Candidate for Governor tells the 336 Coalition Rally supporters that funding of the 336 highway from Macomb to Peoria will be a top priority.

Macomb was well represented at the Rally showing the broad support for this important transportation link that will connect Macomb to Peoria. Importantly 336 would make Peoria the crossroad of two major transportation links.
